Ginger Zinger Recipe
You will need a large drink jug.
Add the zest of half a lemon, a handful of finely chopped mint leaves and half a teaspoon of immune plus.
Pour a small amount of boiling water over the ingredients to release the flavours.
Add the juice of 3 freshly squeezed lemons or limes – both are delicious and perfect for restoring electrolyte balance.
Add 1 teaspoon of organic ginger juice. Or you can use a teaspoon of finely zested fresh ginger.
Top up the jug with sparkling mineral water.
Taste your brew, and add pure maple syrup, raw honey or a few drops of organic liquid stevia if you need sweetening.
To serve, pour over lots of ice.
Make this recipe to your own taste. You can add more or less lemon or lime • sweeten or not • play with the flavours until it’s just right for you.
You can also use other fresh fruit juices with mineral water – like mango, orange, fresh apricots, organic apple. Experiment with fresh, healthy ingredients and create your own nutritious summer drinks.
The star of our zinger recipe is ginger – which is used to aid digestion, help ward off infections, and has anti-inflammatory and cholesterol-lowering properties.
You can buy organic ginger juice from gourmet and health food stores.
We buy organic ginger juice from The Ginger People. A little goes a long way and it’s so handy for making iced drinks, hot chocolate and ginger tea. You can also add it to salad dressing recipes, stir fries and curries – a very versatile product and worth keeping as a staple in your fridge.
We use immune+ in this recipe for a delicious dash of spice, and as an easy way to support your immune system throughout the summer months.
