Cacao is the bean that chocolate is made from. In its raw state, it contains nearly four times the antioxidant content of processed chocolate.
Ecuadorian cacao has a rich, smooth flavour that is ideal for hot chocolate drinks and raw chocolate recipes. We use Cacao Gold by Power Superfoods.
If you love orange and chocolate together, add a 1⁄4 teaspoon of orange zest into the pot.
The antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic properties make orange zest a delicious addition to cacao drinks. The flavonoid and vitamin C content supports your immune system too.
Makes sure you use oranges that are grown without the use of pesticides, so there is no toxic chemical contamination on the peel.
Most dietary fats are comprised of long-chain triglycerides (LCTs).
MCT’s medium-chain length) don’t require the enzymes or bile acids for digestion and absorption that LCTs need – they are rapidly digested and absorbed.
Raw honey is a natural antibiotic with broad antimicrobial activity. If you are vegan, use pure organic maple syrup.
If you are having trouble sleeping, add a dash of nutmeg to your hot chocolate. Nutmeg has sedative properties that aid natural sleep.
